With fuel only getting more expensive, unless you’ve won Free Fuel For a Year with us! Mark Bailey the chairman at Trade Centre Wales has been curious about how many of us would prefer an electric car to a fuel alternative.

Now of course Electric Cars have improved dramatically over the past few years and after conducting a survey using the poll on our website we have found that only 27% of the people who entered would buy an Electric Vehicle!

According to Eco Friend the Nissan Leaf is Truly a car to watch out for in the future, the Nissan Leaf (also formatted “LEAF” as a acronym for Leading, Environmentally friendly, Affordable, Family car) is a five-door mid-size hatchback electriccar produced by Japanese automaker Nissan and was introduced in Japan and the U.S. in December 2010. Incorporated with a 80 kW (110 hp) synchronous motor, the car is touted to have an extended range of 160 kilometers (100 mi) on the EPA city driving cycle, and a convenient top speed of over 150 km/h (93 mph) with 0-60 acceleration in 9.9 secs. Moreover, Nissan could very well become the first automaker to have 10,000 all-electric vehicles in the U.S. by the end of 2011. Fervently epitomizing the ‘green’ way of life, LEAF has already won several accolades including the 2011 World Car of the Year, and ranks as the most efficient EPA certified vehicle for all fuels ever.

What are your thoughts? do you see this as a reasonable sum for the public wanting Electric Motors? Should Used Car Supermarkets such as ourselves be doing more to stock a vast selection of Electric Vehicles?

We try to stock as many vehicles as possible here at

Trade Centre Wales and you can always check out our Auto Trader site for a small selection of what we stock here at Trade Centre Wales

Do you have an Electric Car? If so how’s it running? How is the battery life (If you have had it more than a year or so) have you noticed a long term decrease in life?

I could not believe my luck when mike called me,”I’ve never won anything in my life” I thought it was one of those telephone scams, As soon as I had heard I rang my daughter and told her the good news as the car was bought for her. This is the 2nd time we’ve been to Trade Centre as we bought our last car here and as there is a vast choice of cars I kept changing my mind on which one to go for, I’m so excited about winning I’m not sure what to do with the money so I think I will keep it for a rainy day.. Thanks to everyone at Trade Centre Wales.

What a wonderful surprise i had,I could not believe it, I thought it was a wind-up as Trevor called me from Trade Centre Wales and told me i had won the FREE Fuel competition for this month. It could not have come at a better time to as i have just lost my job and having only been there for a couple months and as i had only just graduated with “Honours” by the way i need to pay off my student loan or keep the money for Christmas so I’m over the moon. We only originally came in for a look as my old car was starting to look a bit tired and found this cute looking VW Fox, Dean got me a good deal on my old car and Catherine sorted out my finance who was great. I love my new car and with this great surprise im well pleased. Thank you Trade Centre Wales..

So, The Sun Does Shine Out Of The Ospreys Backside!

The Trade Centre Wales have once again signed a sponsorship deal with The Ospreys for the 2011/2012 season after a period of inactivity. The new sponsorship deal sees The Trade Centre Wales logo covering the majority of the back of the shorts, a quirky position that has become known in Ospreylia as the ‘Bunny Bob’.  An off-the-wall idea that lends itself well to the TCW marketing strategy that includes characters such as Trevor and his cohorts.  The partnership was rekindled in late October when TCW approached the Ospreys with what seemed an outlandish idea.  However, both parties have a long standing relationship that spans many seasons and happily the alliance was formed once again.  Forget David vs Goliath, this is more of a case of Goliath and Goliath. The giants in regional rugby joining forces with the giants in the regional used car marketplace.

In a statement TCW Chairman, Mr Mark Bailey said, “We are very happy to be working with The Ospreys again. We have reignited what was a very successful relationship and look forward to a mutually productive season moving forward. The Ospreys ethos is of the same ilk as ours, which was a deciding factor in our considerations to associate ourselves with an equally forward thinking partner. We are proud as always to lead the pack (excuse the pun) when it comes to the positioning of our logo.  Being the first RaboDirect Pro 12 teamto do so reflects the creative nature of our marketing strategy and the creativity shown by the Ospreys players and management on and off the pitch”.
